Meet the Team
We have a small core team of committed professionals with a wide range of skills and experience, supported in our work by a large number of volunteers. We love what we do, and we do it with passion.
Children’s Team Leader
Alysia leads the Children’s Team overseeing the development of projects and running our Learning English Together through Play groups. Let’s Play is a welcoming environment for children and their carers that supports the development of peer relationships and promotes confidence in spoken English through creative and imaginative play in order to help prepare children for nursery.
Dawn has worked here since 2018 in various projects. Dawn currently organises the distribution of all incoming and outgoing furniture, liaises with external referrers for emergencies, ensuring families’ needs are met and they are comfortable
Admin & Finance Team Leader
Jayne has been working with Carriers of Hope since April 2020 ensuring all our admin and financial systems are working well. She also co-ordinates the referrals that come to us from outside organisations.
Response Team Leader
Karen is the Project Manager for the World Foods Food Hub, as well as leading our client response team. She and her team make sure that we are responding well to the varied needs of our clients.
Lin works with groups of women to offer educational opportunities and support on a variety of subjects including Safer Sleeping and Weaning as well as Child Development and English language skills. Lin also provides hands on support in our Let’s Play and creche settings which promote the knowledge of child development and wellbeing whilst providing opportunities for families to develop relationships within the community.
Client Connection Team
Lorena is part of our Client Connection team. She meets with clients face-to-face to understand their situation and connect them with relevant support. She is also part of the World Foods Food Hub and Shop teams.
Michelle is part of our Children’s Work Team and manages our Baby Project, ensuring that expectant mothers have everything they need for the arrival of their babies in hospital and once they return home. Michelle organises the pre-birth visits and further visits at 6 months into the community.
Client Response Team
Namrine supports the admin of various projects including dealing with requests through the Client Helpline and helping to pick and pack items requested. She also keeps our records about what has been distributed and to whom.
Neal works hard to transform an empty house into a home for our clients by collecting, storing, organising and delivering all furniture and white goods donated.
Pip is our Operations Manager, working to support our CEO. She manages the Team Leaders and various logistics and operations. She also connects with other organisations around the city so that we are working well together.
Client Connection Team
Rinan is part of our Client Connection team. She meets with clients face-to-face to understand their situation and connect them with relevant support. She is also part of the World Foods Food Hub and does Arabic interpreting for us when required.
Sue founded Carriers of Hope in 2009, and still volunteers full-time, co-ordinating all its work and projects.
